The U.S. will invest in the Mayan Train: AMLO

MEXICO — The president of the United States, Donald Trump, guaranteed that his country will invest in the construction of the Mayan Train and other infrastructure works in the Mexican southeast, revealed President Andrés Manuel López Obrador.

During the delivery of support to beneficiaries of Programas Integrales de Bienestar in Campeche, López Obrador stated that during a meeting held with the minister of Commerce of the U.S, Wilbur Ross, in Merida, Yucatan, the official talked to him about the willingness of the US president to invest.

"He talked to me (the US official) about President Trump’s wish to invest and help to build the Mayan Train and other infrastructure works in the southeast," he said.

He recalled that the train will have an extension of 1,500 kilometers from Palenque, passing through Escárcega, Campeche, Mérida, Cancún, Tulúm, Kalakmul and back to Escárcega. "It's like a circuit that covers the whole Peninsula and below."
