VERACRUZ – Seems like the port of Veracruz decreased its auto and auto parts flow, however, it continues to lead in the country.

The movements in the Port of Veracruz fell 6.6% in the first quarter of the year, however, it remained at the peak in the national automotive industry. The automotive port movement increased 3.2% nationwide, mobilizing a total of 487,817 units.

Almost half, 235,180 vehicles, passed through the port of Veracruz to be exported to the whole world, according to data from Secretaria de Comunicación y Transportes (SCT).

On the other hand, the port with the highest growth was also the most modern, Tuxpan, with an 84.4% growth in the first quarter of 2019 with 31,579 displaced units.

In second place was the port of Lázaro Cárdenas (LC), which mobilized 117,530 units, which means a growth of 1.6%.

It should be noted that the low growth in this port was due to the problems of railway blocks that occurred at the beginning of the year.

Finally, Altamira grew an important 27.9% by mobilizing 68,113 units.
