Space agencies from Greece and Mexico sign agreement

MEXICO The Mexican Space Agency (AEM) signed an agreement of understanding with the Hellenic Space Agency (HSA), in order to achieve a friendly relationship and cooperation in the space industry between the two countries.

Cooperation activities between the two space agencies include the joint development of low-orbiting satellites, the development of space technology, the promotion of capacities in education and innovation, academic and scientific exchanges, and the organization of space events and seminars for the training of young people.

"This agreement opens the opportunity for very interesting cooperation actions between our countries, both in space applications for social benefits, and for the development of the aerospace sector, since the emphasis of private participation in the space sector of Greece is very important ," said Javier Mendieta Jiménez, director of the AEM.

He stated as wll that both nations are committed to taking advantage of space science and technology to bring benefits to the population, and recalled thatt both Mexico and Greece face similar risk situations, such as hurricanes and sorms that occur in their marine surfaces and coasts.
