A German muffler facility will be installed in Saltillo

SALTILLO The Eberspaecher group will open a new plant in Saltillo aimed to the manufacture of components for the control of automobile and commercial vehicle emissions in Mexico.

This plant will have 15,000 m2 of production surface and will be dedicated to the production of exhaust systems and treatment of emissions including passenger cars and commercial vehicles generating up to 500 long-term jobs; the figures investment have not been disclosed yet.

Said facility will be built at the Server Industrial Park located near Saltillo where important international automotive assemblers are located. Saltillo is 300 km southwest of the border with the United States and is connected to the Pan American Highway, which offers an excellent transport and logistics communication route.

The construction works are expected to be completed by the end of the summer and the first series assemblies will leave the production line by the end of 2019. In the medium term, Eberspaecher will create some 250 direct jobs.

To date, the Eberspaecher group operates in nine centers in North America. Among them are the US emission treatment technology factories located in Brighton and Wixom (Michigan), Spartanburg (South Carolina) and Northport (Alabama), as well as a development center in Novi (Michigan). In Mexico, Eberspaecher has been producing climate control systems for buses in Monterrey since 2017
