Semarnat started Santa Lucía public consultation

MEXICO — The Secretariat of Environment and Natural Resources (Semarnat) began the process of public consultation in relation to the project of reconversion of the Military Base of Santa Lucia in an airport for civil and military use, which will be carried out by the Secretariat of the National Defense (Sedena).

 

Through the Official Ecological Gazette of the Secretariat, the government agency indicated that the process will be carried out between May 16 and June 12, during which the interested public will be able to express their observations and send them electronically or directly.

 

The information can be registered on the official page with the key "15EM2019V0064". At the time of publication, the current status of said process was "Evaluation" and Semarnat placed at the disposal of the public both the Environmental Impact Statement made by the Institute of Engineering of the UNAM, and the executive summary of it. The agency also indicated that any interested party can propose additional preventive or mitigation measures
