AMLO meets with entrepreneurs from the aerospace industry

MEXICO CITY – President Andrés Manuel López Obrador received executives from the Bombardier and Safran companies, dedicated to the aerospace and railway industry.

"I met with the representatives of the global companies Bombardier and Safran, and they expressed their desire to continue investing in Mexican aerospace industry and the construction of trains. Congratulations!" the president posted on Twitter.

Said meeting was attended by Carlos Eduardo Represas, Latin America Bombardier chairman; Daniel Desjardins, chairman of the Bombardier Board; Elliot Lee Sander, president & CEO Bombardier Americas; Karl Reichelt-VP, Business Development; Luis Téllez Kuenzler; Jose Manuel Madero and Frederic García.

On behalf of Safran,Phillippe Petitcolin, Daniel Parfait, Edgar Garcia and Jean-Phillippe Famille attended the meeting.

The Canadian company Bombardier sold 45 new trains to the Government of Mexico City when Lopez Obrador was head of the capital’s government, through a multi-year contract of US$500 million.

Last year, during his transition period, López Obrador expressed his desire that this same company, which has its headquarters in Ciudad Sahagún, Hidalgo, participate in the construction of the Mayan Train.
