China Southern Airlines goes for consolidation in Mexico

MEXICO After two years of operations in Mexico, China Southern Airlines is consolidating in the Mexican market.

"We started operations in April 2017, but we are not yet a success story, we are looking to consolidate ourselves as a leader in the market," said Diego Jiang, sales & marketing manager of China Southern Airlines in Mexico.

Heading to the third year of operations, the manager stated that the airline seeks to continue growing and is looking to consolidate the profitability of the company, after having during the first year of operations a 5.4% increase in cargo handling and 37.3% in passengers.

"We have a lot of expectation in the market and in our three weekly frequencies that provide cargo and passengers connection inside the Mexico City airport," he said.

He recalled as well that since April 11, 2017, when a direct route between Mexico City and Guangzhou, China began, China Southern Airlnes, has transported 2,105 tons and 24,184 passengers, according to the General Directorate of Civil Aeronautics.
