The Home Depot invests US$10 million in the State of Mexico

NEZAHUALCÓYOTL– The home improvement company, The Home Depot, made its 124th opening in the country in Nezahualcoyotl, State of Mexico, with an investment of US$10 million.

The complex, which will cover an area of 6,000 square meters – 4,000 square meters of sale floor – generated 100 direct jobs, according to the company.

"We are reinforcing the theme of interconnected experience with what we want to eliminate the barriers between the physical store and the online site, that is where we are going," said its general director, José Rodríguez Garza.

According to the manager, of the US$ 99 million that the company expects to invest this year, between 30% and 40% will be allocated to its omnichannel project. "Not only is the system issue, but the logistics infrastructure, we are seeing some distribution modalities to reach customers faster," he said. He explained that within this phase, they are looking for alliances with logistics operators and the expansion of their distribution centers.

 "We want not only to deliver faster to the store, but also to our customers in order to improve our level of service," he said.

Currently the promise of delivery time of the company that is estimated, is 48 hours, according to the manager. He added that the company's strategy is to focus on high-volume products, with which they want to be more efficient.

He stated as well that they will also seek to automate their distribution centers partially in order to improve their operations. "Customers are already more demanding, this is a challenge for all retailers in Mexico and the world," Rodriguez Garza said.
