COAHUILA – Promoting the generation of energy from renewable sources, is a fundamental part of the guidelines established by the governor of the State, Miguel Angel Riquelme Solis.

Jaime Guerra Perez, minister of Economy of Coahuila, pointed out that so far there are six new investment projects in the renewable energy sector, four of them will be located in the Southeast Region, one in the North Region, and another in the Laguna Region; five of these projects, are photovoltaic solar parks and one of them is a wind farm.

The total investment for these projects is around US$1.2 billion, and will generate around 3,000 jobs during the construction period.

"Nature has been very generous with Coahuila. We are a state with solar irradiation above the national average, located at 6.1 kilowatt per hour on a square meter," he said.

It is expected that this year will be added another four new renewable energy projects to the investment schedule, aiming to reach US$2 billion investment in 2019.
