AMLO announced a US$2 billion investment for the Mayan Train

TULUM – President Andres Manuel Lopez Obrador announced an investment of US$2 billion in Tulum, Quintana Roo for the construction of the Mayan Train, whose construction, he said, will trigger the generation of jobs.

López Obrador, who was accompanied by his wife Beatriz Gutiérrez Müller, said he has to order the territory for development, because there has been a lot of abuse and dispossession.

In addition, the director of the National Fund for Tourism Promotion, Rogelio Jiménez Pons, stated that the project that will cross the states of Yucatan, Quintana Roo, Chiapas and Campeche, will make possible a territorial ordering of the region

Said project will allow as well an increase of income level and job creation, it will generate an economic spillover in the states involved, bring more tourism spending and income capture in the communities, as well as greater service infrastructure for the inhabitants, increase in connectivity and digitalization, stated Jiménez Pons.
