ENSENADA – With the intention of attracting value-added companies to Ensenada, the Economic Promotion Commission of Ensenada (Copreen) signed a collaboration agreement with the Aerospace Cluster of Baja California.
Tomás Sibaja, president of the Aerospace Cluster of Baja California, pointed out that Ensenada ranks third place in terms of aerospace industry, after Tijuana and Mexicali.
He considered that the space issue is a different segment and specialized niche, where the value of scientific knowledge and research turns out to be preponderant.
Sibaja mentioned that according to data from the Ministry of Economy, in 2017 Baja California exported more than US$2 billion from the aerospace sector.
"The advantage is that here we have research centers that already have international recognition, what we have to do is give them the aerospace approach," he said.
