GUANAJUATO – Whirlpool opened a new manufacturing section in Guanajuato that represented an investment of US$5 million.

The company produces at its plant in Celaya about 7,000 units a day including refrigerators, stoves and washing machines, said the governor Diego Sinhue Rodríguez Vallejo when presiding over the start of operations.

He acknowledged that with 47 years of history in the state, Whirlpool, represents the history of what is Guanajuato.

"25 years ago the entity exported US$300 million and in 2018 US$24 billion were exported, we were considered one of the states with the greatest poverty, we were the last place in education and 25 years later we have a state that goes to the cutting edge generation of jobs, exports, economic growth, a state that generates welfare conditions, "Rodriguez Vallejo said.

"Not only is it the fact that there are 4,500 stoves produced daily here, including refrigerators, stoves and washing machines, we are talking about almost 7,000 products a day, you are really contributing to the construction of homes in Mexico and North America," he said.
