Continental invests US$58 million in Aguascalientes

AGUASCALIENTES – The Continental technology company began today the construction of its new plant in Mexico, which will help to continue improving the presence of the company in our country.

By choosing Aguascalientes as a location, Continental will be increasing the production of electronic components for the global market, it will invest more than US$58 million over the next five years and plans to create around 1,000 new jobs.

Said plant will be characterized by two important factors:

Sustainability: The facility’s construction meets strict requirements and standards to ensure that the energy of its buildings can be used in the most efficient way.

Industry 4.0: The plant has a flexible design that allows to adapt vehicles guided in an automated way for the transport of materials.

In addition, work spaces will be open, collaborative and prone to coexistence, which encourages creativity and the exchange of ideas in a work environment that promotes corporate values.

"We chose Aguascalientes because of its geographical location, economic and security conditions, but above all, due to the fact that the state has what it takes to cover the personnel requirements that a high technology plant like this one needs," stated Ina Seterbakken, project leader of the Aguascalientes Plant.
