Mining industry: the second with the highest FDI uptake in Chihuahua

CHIHUAHUA — The mining industry is ranked as the second with the highest uptake of foreign direct investment in the state of Chihuahua, according to the most recent report of the Socioeconomic Radiography of the Municipality of Juárez, presented by the Municipal Research and Planning Institute (IMIP).

According to the figures presented in said document, the mining industry invested US$101.3 million during 2018, only below the manufacturing industry (US $ 766 million).

The third place went to the generation, transmission and distribution of electrical energy, water and gas supply by pipelines to the final consumer (US $ 79.6 million)

Data from the Ministry of Economy revealed that until the first quarter of this year, the entity has received US$438 million of foreign direct investment, an increase of almost 10% compared to the same period of 2018.
