Japanese companies bet on San Luis Potosi

SAN LUIS POTOSI   The State Minister for Economic Development (Sedeco) reported that five new companies and eight extensions of Japanese origin have arrived at the entity.

Gustavo Puente Orozco, head of Sedeco, explained that during the administration of Governor Juan Manuel Carreras López, an investment amounting to US $ 115 million has been made by Japanese companies, creating 617 direct jobs.

The companies that are already operating or are going through an under construction phase are Nidek Sankyo México, Meiwa Sanyo Industria de México, Zeon Kasei México, Taxan México S.A. from C.V. and Hirotec.

On the other hand, the Japanese companies that have expanded their plants and processes are North American Lighting Mexico, Midori Auto Leather Mexicana (twice), Siix EMS Mexico, Toyoda Gosei Atuomotive (Mexquitic and Venado plants), Nissha PMX Techonologies, and Bandai Arnés de Mexico.

Puente Orozco indicated that these extensions represent an investment of US $ 479.5 million and the creation of more than 6,330 direct jobs; most of them belong to the automotive, auto parts and medical sector.
