DHL to invest US$300 million in Mexico

MEXICO CITY The courier and logistics firm DHL Express confirmed the investment of US$300 million in Mexico between 2019 and 2024, which will help to boost more than 3,500 jobs in the country.

President Andrés Manuel López Obrador received at the national palace Mike Parra, CEO of DHL Express for America; Antonio Arranz, CEO of DHL Express México and Manuel Montes, senior legal and government affairs director of the company.

The executives stated that during 2019 investments in infrastructure, retail, security, technology, offices and equipment for clients amount to US$46 million.

They stated as well that the firm invested US$6 million in the southeast part of the country, with the aim of increasing the capacity of various package exchange centers located in Veracruz, Poza Rica and Puebla.

On the other hand, this year DHL allocated US$19 million in the expansion of a hub located within the industrial zone of Tres Ríos in order to meet the demand of electronic commerce.
