MEXICO CITY Scott Lantz, regional director of Emirates in Mexico, Central America, Caribbean, Colombia, Ecuador, Peru, Bolivia and Chile announced that the airline is looking for administrative personnel based on Mexico City.

Currently, the Emirati airline is waiting for the approval, by the Mexican government, of its operations for the launch of its route between Dubai, Barcelona and Mexico City, on December 9th.

According to Rodrigo Vásquez Colmenares, head of the General Directorate of Civil Aviation (DGAC), the Mexican government will not announce before August 31st its decision regarding the initial Emirate’s allocation of slots at the Mexico City International Airport (AICM).

On the other hand, Grupo Aeroméxico filed an amparo against Emirates to curb the arrival of the Arab airline to Mexico and request the intervention of the Federal Economic Competition Commission (Cofece).
