CHIAPA DE CORZO — The American company Cargill will invest US$5.3 million within the next three years in small communities of Mexico in order for them to boost their development, announced David MacLennan, global CEO of Cargill.

MacLennan explained that the company aims to promote three programs that support communities in the south part of the country in sectors such as poultry and agriculture; and an additional program that will be extended to Central America, in order to have “safe and sustained products”.

In this regard, René Osorio, director of Cargill Mexico, commented: “for the company it is essential to work with communities in order to make them prosperous, we have been working on it for a long time; but now we are beginning to expand that vision especially by empowering women so that they are able to develop sustainable business, improve their nutrition and take care of the environment.”
