With lower foreign purchase rates from the main Asian Markets, Malaysia has increased interest in exporting products to other destinations, including Mexico, and reinforcing business relations among both Countries. With this objective in mind, Mustapa Mohamed, Ministry of Foreign Trade and Industry of Malaysia, is leading a Commercial Mission to Mexico, together with representatives of 12 Malaysian companies from the Aerospace, Automotive, Telecom and Construction services, among others. "The Malaysian Government is looking for a transformation similar to the one that Mexico underwent with the North American Free Trade Agreement (NAFTA)", said Bieyka Jimenez, Commercial consultant at the Malaysian Embassy in Mexico. Mustapa will oversee the signing of two agreements for cooperation, one with the Universidad Aeronautica de Queretaro and another one with The Mexican Federation of Aerospace Industries, A.C. FEMIA.
