MGS Mfg. Group, a manufacturer of high precision plastic products based in Wisconsin, announced it has acquired a 125,000-square-foot injection molding facility in Juarez, Mexico, from Florida-based Jabil Inc.

The company said the deal doubles its production footprint in the Mexican state of Chihuahua. MGS Mfg. Group already operates 125,000 square feet of manufacturing in the city of Chihuahua.

“MGS has experienced significant growth in the Mexican market, and the Juarez facility is a great fit for our continued expansion,” Paul Manley, president of MGS, said in a press release.

The 125,000-square-foot Juarez plant employs 500 and runs 65 injection molding machines. As part of the agreement, the Jabil employees will be able to continue with MGS. Financial terms of the deal were not disclosed.

Milwaukee private equity firm Mason Wells purchased MGS in mid-2016. At the time, MGS employed 500 in the Milwaukee area and 1,400 throughout manufacturing facilities in Wisconsin, Illinois, New York, Mexico and Ireland. Its 2015 revenue was $208 million.
