Stellantis Mexico anticipates growth in 2025

SALTILLO, COAH - Stellantis Mexico anticipates a 2025 marked by double-digit sales growth, supported by the launch of up to 15 new models and the expansion of its manufacturing plant in Saltillo, Coahuila.

These announcements, made by Carlos Quezada, president and CEO of Stellantis Mexico, underscore the automaker's commitment to electrification in all available energies and to the competitiveness of its operation in the country.

In 2024, the European automaker will begin production of electric vehicles at its plant in Toluca, State of Mexico, following an investment of US$1.6 billion.

This move represents a milestone in its electrification strategy. Also, by the first quarter of 2025, Stellantis plans to introduce new developments at the Coahuila complex, which specializes in the production of trucks, vans and engines, where the announcement of a new model of the RAM line is expected.

“Stellantis is committed to Mexico and we want to continue investing in the country. We have an exceptional manufacturing quality, our plants are among the best of the corporation globally,” said Quezada, highlighting the experience of the workers and the competitive potential of the Mexican facilities.

Quezada pointed out the challenges that the Mexican automotive industry will face in 2024, including the possible imposition of tariffs under the administration of Donald Trump, the next president of the United States, and the revision of the United States, Mexico, Canada Treaty (USMCA).

“From January onwards, much will depend on how the issues of tariffs and other factors that may affect operations and exports to the United States are resolved,” he warned.
