Ford Mexico announces strategic appointments
MEXICO - Ford appoints William Velez as new Director for Lincoln Mexico, Puerto Rico, Central America and the Caribbean, and Elizabeth Lopez as Marketing Director for Ford de Mexico.
William Velez, who until today served as Director of Marketing for Ford of Mexico, has more than 17 years of experience in the automotive industry, 12 of them within Ford Motor Company, starting in Colombia as Product Manager in the Marketing area.
During his tenure in Colombia he achieved great accomplishments such as developing a marketing strategy that helped create a consumer focus on value rather than price, as well as helping to build Ford Colombia into an aspirational brand with favorable opinions.
Subsequently, he became the Regional Marketing Manager for South America where he developed the first active brand strategy for five different markets, leading to significant cost efficiencies for the region.
A year ago, William came to Mexico to become Ford's Marketing Director in the country, achieving important accomplishments in the organization.
Meanwhile, Elizabeth Lopez, who will be the new Director for Marketing, has more than 13 years of experience, Elizabeth has developed a solid career within the Marketing and Sales area of Ford de Mexico, where she began her professional career after graduation.
Starting as a Marketing and Research Analyst, she helped during her first years at the company in the CRM segment, BTL and in the study of consumers and their needs to offer products and communication guided towards what they were looking for.
Later she was Marketing Coordinator for Motorcraft and also joined Lincoln as Consumer Manager for Mexico, Puerto Rico, Central America and the Caribbean where she was in charge of the communications strategy, as well as the generation of alliances with luxury brands that will help the positioning of the company's premium division in the region.
She returned to Ford as Brand Manager for the SUV segment for Explorer, Expedition and Edge, but soon after, thanks to her results, she became the Brand Group Leader for Ford Performance, Vehicles and Technology, a position in which she served for three years, achieving great achievements with the high-performance family of the blue oval, as well as a significant advance in the positioning of Ford vehicle technology.
