NIDEC inaugurates expansion in Tamaulipas

REYNOSA, TAMPS - NIDEC, the leading Japanese Tier 1 manufacturer of industrial generators and alternators for North America, has invested US$23 million in the expansion of its plant in Reynosa, Tamaulipas. This project will create 384 new jobs and further strengthen the company's presence in Mexico, consolidating its industrial leadership in the region.

The inauguration of the project, which coincides with the celebration of NIDEC's 20 years of successful operations in Reynosa, brought together prominent corporate leaders and local authorities.

The Undersecretary of Investment of the Ministry of Economy, Anabell Flores Garza, who represented the head of the Ministry, Ninfa Cantú Deándar, emphasized that NIDEC's investment reflects the stability and favorable investment environment that characterizes Tamaulipas.

According to the official, the expansion will not only improve the plant's infrastructure, but also highlights the state's competitiveness as a strategic destination for high-level industrial projects.

This milestone highlights Reynosa's potential as a key industrial hub in the region, reaffirming international confidence in the strength of Tamaulipas as a competitive destination for advanced manufacturing.

It is worth noting that this investment, previously announced on July 27, 2024, is inaugurated five months later, marking the beginning of more robust production.
