Ford Postpones Launch of Two EVs Until 2028

With the launch of Ford's new platform for affordable electric vehicles, the blue oval company has decided to shift its priorities and will therefore postpone the debut of two new models until 2028, according to information provided to its suppliers.
Originally, the Detroit automaker planned to begin production of a full-size electric pickup truck, distinct from the F-150 Lightning, at its BlueOval City plant in Tennessee starting in 2027.
Additionally, production of a new generation of the E-Transit commercial van was scheduled to begin at its Avon Lake, Ohio, headquarters in 2026.
Both products had already been postponed previously, as according to the original schedule, both products were planned to hit the market this year.
However, Ford acknowledged that since last June, it has confirmed the new deadlines to employees and suppliers involved.
