Guanajuato receives automotive investment

With investments totaling more than US$75 million, two automotive component suppliers inaugurated their respective plants in Apaseo el Grande, Guanajuato, with a view to serving both the robust automotive industry in the Bajío region and the United States.
In the first case, the German company Mubea opened a steel tube manufacturing plant in which it invested US$60 million USD.
The new headquarters, located in the Amistad Chuy María Industrial Park, will have a workforce of 200 employees and will serve General Motors, Stellantis, Ford, and Tesla assembly plants, according to the local government.
Local press reports indicate that the plant began operations last August with an estimated production of 1,200 tons per month, but its installed capacity is projected to reach 36,000 tons per year.

For its part, Hella invested US$15.4 million in opening its plant focused on the production of body control modules (BCM) and electronic power steering (EPS control modules), remote key fobs, and other components.
The new headquarters is located in the Amexhe Industrial Park, and its opening created 123 new jobs.
With this expansion, Hella's operation in Apaseo el Grande has reached a total investment of US$61.9 million and created 368 direct jobs.
