Bombardier to expand its presence in Querétaro

Bombardier, an aerospace manufacturer, will expand its operations in Querétaro with an investment of US$18 million and plans to create 246 highly specialized jobs.
This investment reaffirms the Canadian company's confidence in the state and contributes to the development of aerospace capabilities in Querétaro, said Bombardier's Vice President of Transformation, Tony Curry.
"We have built a relationship with Bombardier Aerospace in Querétaro. This is our largest site. And today, in that relationship we have built with the government of Querétaro, we are investing millions of dollars in the strength of that relationship," Curry said.
The investment project was confirmed during a meeting between company executives and local authorities, the state government confirmed in a press release.
During the announcement, the executive highlighted the company's interest in the state, due to the links that exist between academia, industry, and the government. He added that the expansion plan is materializing thanks to the conditions offered by the state, according to the press release.
At the meeting, Bombardier executives presented the company's plan to strengthen its presence in Querétaro, where it is about to celebrate 20 years of operations.
In the context of the investment announcement, Governor Mauricio Kuri González mentioned Bombardier's 20-year relationship with Querétaro, which has resulted in this new investment plan by the business aircraft manufacturer.
“This is great news. We are truly excited that they continue to strengthen their relationship with Querétaro and continue to believe in Querétaro. This did not happen overnight; it is the result of nearly 20 years of continuity,” he said.
In 2005, Bombardier Aerospace announced the establishment of a manufacturing center in Querétaro, which began operations in 2006. In subsequent years, it made additional investments and has become one of the leaders in the development of the state's aerospace industry.
