Tamaulipas and Federal Energy Ministry Review Clean Energy and Power Generation Projects

In a move to bolster the state's energy infrastructure, authorities from the Tamaulipas Energy Development Secretariat (Sedener) and the federal Ministry of Energy (Sener) convened a working meeting to evaluate ongoing projects and strengthen inter-institutional coordination.
The meeting served as a platform to review a diverse portfolio of strategic initiatives. Key topics included the production of bioethanol from sorghum, the sustainability implications of plastic pyrolysis processes, and the status of various power generation projects. Officials also analyzed the advancement of the “100% Electrification” program and the development of a photovoltaic farm in Tula, a project designed to significantly increase the state's renewable energy capacity.
The state of Tamaulipas was represented by its Undersecretary of Electricity and Renewable Energy, Roberto Manuel Rendón Mares, and its Undersecretary of Hydrocarbons, Gobirish Mireles. They presented the state's strategic energy projects to the federal delegation, which was led by Ana María Gómez Solares, Director General of Renewable Energy at the Ministry of Energy (SENER).
Following the review, both agencies committed to maintaining close collaboration. The agreement focuses on three main areas: continuously evaluating project progress, identifying new opportunities in regulatory matters, and strengthening energy planning based on the region's specific territorial and technical conditions. This ongoing partnership aims to ensure the effective development of Tamaulipas's energy sector.
