Querétaro remains Mexico’s fifth largest producer of auto parts

Auto parts production totaled US$6.1 billion in Querétaro between January and August 2025, representing a 7.8% share that keeps it as the fifth largest producer in the country, according to data from the National Auto Parts Industry (INA).
In the Bajío region, it ranks second after Guanajuato, which accounts for 13.7% of auto parts production and is second nationally, behind only Coahuila, which tops the list.
Querétaro has established itself among the leading auto parts producers in Mexico, as well as being an important hub for the industry in the Bajío region, explained INA Director General Gabriel Padilla Maya.
“It is one of the states that, in the first half of this year, according to Inegi reports, has not lost market share in production. (...) Querétaro has consolidated its position as the fifth largest producer in the sector and represents a very important hub in the Bajío region due to its geographical location,” he said.
An example of Querétaro's participation in the industry, he said, is that it has become a hub for business meetings, networking, and exhibitions to strengthen the supply chain.
In an interview, the executive spoke about Querétaro's position among the leading producers of automotive parts, despite the difficult context the industry has experienced in 2025.
This year, the automotive industry has faced a complex scenario due to the effects of U.S. tariff policy and an economic slowdown. However, the impact on the auto parts industry has been less than initially expected, explained the INA's general director.
