Mitsubishi Electric Strengthens Local Supplier Development in Querétaro

Mitsubishi Electric is reinforcing its strategy in Mexico by expanding the development of local suppliers in Querétaro, aiming to strengthen its supply chain and boost operational competitiveness.

The company, which operates two plants in San Juan del Río, is actively integrating domestic companies into its production processes. Currently, around 70% of its direct suppliers are Mexican, while indirect procurement is fully sourced from national providers.

As part of this effort, the firm supported the development of 15 suppliers during 2025, focusing on electrical components, steel, and other industrial inputs. This process involves close coordination between procurement and engineering teams and can take between seven months and a year and a half to complete.

Mitsubishi Electric emphasizes long-term partnerships, encouraging suppliers to meet high standards in quality, sustainability, and continuous improvement. This approach also addresses global supply chain challenges, as local integration helps reduce logistical risks and improve efficiency.

The company continues to seek new suppliers, particularly in sectors such as plastics, steel, and key manufacturing materials. It advises interested companies to strengthen their processes, obtain certifications, and adopt best practices in sustainability and regulatory compliance.

This push aligns with a broader trend in Querétaro’s industrial sector, where developing regional supply chains has become a strategic factor in attracting investment and strengthening the state’s position in global manufacturing.
