Tramontina expands its reach and opens plant in Mexico

The Brazilian company Tramontina has taken a strategic step in its global expansion with the opening of its first production plant outside Brazil, located in Lerma, State of Mexico. With an investment of US$28 million, the project not only expands the company’s industrial capacity but also confirms Mexico’s position as a key destination for the relocation of manufacturing operations in the region.

Currently, Tramontina’s operation in Mexico generates more than 400 direct and indirect jobs.
“This investment translates into more jobs and a greater contribution to the local economy. It is a medium- and long-term commitment,” said Marcos Grespan, director of the plant in Brazil.

In terms of production, the facility will begin by manufacturing aluminum frying pans with non-stick coatings, with a projected capacity of 100,000 units per month.

The decision to establish its first plant outside Brazil in Mexico directly reflects the country’s importance within the company’s global operations. Grespan emphasized that the Mexican market ranks among the top three most significant markets for the company.

Additionally, the location will enable the company to serve the United States and Canada in the future, consolidating a regional manufacturing platform.

By 2026, the company projects growth of between 14% and 15% in Mexico, driven by local production and the consolidation of its logistics network.
