FEMIA Drives a New Era for Mexico’s Aerospace Industry

Mexico is taking a strategic step forward in the global aerospace sector as the Federación Mexicana de la Industria Aeroespacial (FEMIA) leads a new phase focused on high-value services, particularly in aircraft maintenance, repair, and overhaul (MRO).
As part of this effort, FEMIA is participating in MRO Americas 2026 in Orlando, marking the first time it has led a commercial mission dedicated specifically to the MRO segment. This initiative reflects a broader strategy to diversify Mexico’s aerospace capabilities beyond manufacturing and into more complex, service-oriented activities.
The MRO segment is considered one of the fastest-growing and most profitable areas in the global aerospace industry. By entering this market, Mexico aims to position itself not only as a manufacturer of components, but as a strategic partner capable of supporting the operational lifecycle of aircraft fleets.
The Mexican delegation includes companies with expertise in manufacturing, engineering, and specialized aerospace services, presenting a comprehensive value proposition to international partners. The mission’s primary goals are to identify business opportunities, strengthen global relationships, and attract investment into the country’s aerospace ecosystem.
This initiative is aligned with a broader national strategy to promote high-value industries and integrate Mexico more deeply into global supply chains. It also reflects an evolution of the country’s aerospace sector—from a strong manufacturing base toward more sophisticated services that generate higher long-term value.
Overall, FEMIA’s participation signals a turning point for Mexico’s aerospace industry, as it seeks to expand its global role and compete in one of the most dynamic and strategic segments of the aviation market.
