TYASA expands its capacity with new plant in Veracruz

TYASA has begun operations on the first phase of its Special Steels project at its steel complex in Ixtaczoquitlan, Veracruz—an investment that expands its presence in highly specialized industrial sectors and increases its total production capacity to 1.6 million tons per year.

The new facility has an annual production capacity of 400,000 tons and is designed to meet demand from sectors such as the automotive, metalworking, oil, energy, and tool manufacturing industries, among others.

The project is part of a comprehensive strategy by Aceros Especiales SBQ (Special Bar Quality), which includes new development phases over the coming months. These include the commissioning of inspection and conditioning lines, cold finishing processes, and heat treatment systems, which are scheduled to begin operations starting in the third quarter of 2026.

With this expansion, the company is strengthening its product offering for industrial applications that require higher technical specifications, quality standards, and specialized materials, in a context where sectors such as advanced manufacturing, the automotive industry, and power generation demand solutions with increasingly specialized characteristics.

The project also strengthens the production capacity of the Veracruz steel complex, one of the company’s main facilities, from which it serves various domestic and international industrial markets.
