First expansion phase of Tenigal in Nuevo Leon to become operational in early 2019

Tenigal, a joint venture formed by Nippon Steel & Sumitomo Metal Corporation and Ternium, will begin operating in the first quarter of 2019, possibly starting in January, a second hot dip galvanizing line with an annual production capacity of 430,000 metric tons to meet the demand of the automotive industry.

According to the original plan, another line would come into operation in September of the same year. Once the expansion is completed, after an investment of US$ 300 million, the production capacity of the industrial complex located in the municipality of Pesqueria, Nuevo Leon will have a total capacity of 830,000 metric tons per year.
