Aeromexico transports more than one million passengers

MEXICO - During March, Grupo Aeroméxico transported 1,167,000 passengers, which represented an increase of 12.3% compared to the previous month and 12.3% compared to March 2020, when the Mexican airline industry began to feel the impact of the crisis caused by COVID-19.
However, the traffic levels of Aeromexico continue to be 34% below what it recorded in March 2019, when it transported 1,776,000 passengers throughout its route network.
Domestically, it transported 947 thousand passengers during March 2021, driven by the start of Holy Week in the country. This was a 30.2% increase compared to a year ago and a 16% drop compared to pre-pandemic levels.
Meanwhile, internationally, it carried 220 thousand travelers, 29.4% less than a year ago and 65% less than two years ago, according to the traffic reports issued by the company.
The Eagle Knight airline's supply, measured in available seat kilometers (ASK), increased by 12.7% compared to February 2021 and decreased 25.6% year-on-year, the airline reported, while its demand, measured in passengers- kilometer (RPK) increased 30.2% versus last month and fell 16.3% versus 2020.
Finally, the airline's load factor was 75.3% during the month of March. Likewise, in this period, Aeromexico made the first flight in its history to Russia, to carry out a charter cargo transport operation.
