Audi Mexico to build new High Voltage Battery Plant

PUEBLA - Audi Mexico has begun construction of its High Voltage Battery Assembly Facility, a project that will position the plant as a producer of key components for electric vehicles.

The facility will feature energy-saving technology and will have a production capacity of more than 300 batteries per day.

The project includes the training of 350 people specialized in high-voltage handling and advanced technological tools, fostering the development of technical skills within the automotive sector.

With this development, Audi Mexico will become the first plant outside Germany to manufacture high-voltage batteries and modules, highlighting the country's strategic role in the growth of electric mobility.

This new facility, which will cover 33,600 square meters plus a 5,600-square-meter office penthouse, will be built in a sustainable manner.

The building will be illuminated during the day only by sunlight and will feature heat recovery technology, keeping the facilities at an optimal temperature without the need for gas.

Employees who will work with high voltage will receive training at the Audi Mexico Training Center, ensuring that all those involved in battery assembly operate under the best safety conditions and with the most advanced technologies in electromobility.
