Baja California is home to 21% of Mexico’s aerospace companies

In order to consolidate its leadership in the aerospace industry, the state of Baja California established strategic alliances during the Mexican Aerospace Fair (FAMEX) 2025, through the Ministry of Economy and Innovation and the ProBaja platform, in collaboration with the recently created Baja California Aerospace and Aeronautics Cluster (CEA-BC).

It is worth mentioning that the state has 94 companies in the industry, concentrating 21% of the aerospace sector companies in the country; it generates more than 40 thousand jobs, including engineers, technicians and operators, and has a strong supply base of more than 339 companies.

One of the key moments at the fair was the meeting with the French Ambassador to Mexico, Delphine Borione, reinforcing the relationship between Baja California and the European country, a strategic player in the aeronautical sector.

Meetings were also held with leaders of SAFRAN, the largest aerospace employer in Mexico, and with the Canadian company Meloche Group, which confirmed its upcoming visit to the state to evaluate investment opportunities.

Baja California also strengthened ties with Arizona through the Arizona Commerce Authority, with the objective of strengthening binational cooperation in aerospace matters. In addition, the state held meetings with GE Aerospace, promoting the development of local suppliers through ProBaja's Capacity Portfolio.

Its participation represents the strategic union between tractor companies, suppliers, universities and public entities, promoting an environment of collective growth, professionalization and international visibility.

Baja California has been a key player in the aerospace industry for almost 50 years, with strong development in Mexicali and Tijuana.

The Industrial Innovation Center for the Aerospace Sector (CIIA-Baja California) drives the competitiveness and technological development of the industry, supporting the technological adoption of companies.

The Baja California Aerospace Cluster, together with other actors, seeks to strengthen the sector, drive innovation and attract investment, as seen at the Mexican Aerospace Fair (FAMEX) 2025.

The aerospace industry in the state has an estimated workforce of 8,000 technicians, engineers and operators, as well as a solid supplier base.

In addition, the sector generates an important economic impact, contributing to the generation of employment and the diversification of the state's economy.
