Baja California’s tourism benefits promoted in Phoenix

BAJA CALIFORNIA - The Baja California Ministry of Tourism led a tourism promotion tour at the Mexican Consulate in Phoenix, to highlight the state's richness and diversity in tourism, including its gastronomic, wine, cultural and medical tourism offerings.

Accompanied by a delegation made up of health and wellness service providers, as well as government representatives, a wide range of the region's attractions were presented to the media, travel agents and tour operators.

Baja California's Secretary of Tourism, Miguel Aguíñiga Rodríguez, highlighted that the tour represents an important step to consolidate the collaboration between Baja California and Arizona, strengthening binational tourism and creating economic and cultural development opportunities for both regions.

The state of Arizona is the second largest source of U.S. tourists to Baja California, according to the Visitor Profile 2022-2023.

According to the Government of Baja California, the close tourism link is reflected in the direct air connectivity between both regions, such as the Phoenix-Tijuana flight operated by American Airlines, inaugurated in February of this year, which has facilitated the exchange of visitors and strengthened binational ties.

The event was also attended by Jorge Mendoza Yescas, Consul General of Mexico in Phoenix; Miguel Angel Torres Sanchez, President of the Tourism and Convention Committee of Mexicali; Carolina Chavez Vazquez, Director of the Baja Health Cluster; Rodrigo Robledo Silva, Director of the Medical Health Cluster; among others.
