Balluff to build new production plant in Aguascalientes
AGUASCALIENTES – Balluff reported that it will invest around 50 million euros to build a new plant in Aguascalientes, where it will produce sensors, accessories, network systems and RFID solutions.
At a groundbreaking ceremony, company executives said that this facility will enable further growth and strengthen the Americas business region.
Balluff's new Smart Factory will cover an area of 15,000 m² and production is scheduled to start later this year.
"When we decided on a new production site, we asked ourselves how well we fit in this region as an employer. We see a lot of potential in Aguascalientes. We are looking forward to adding many members to our family," said Frank Nonnenmann, managing director and head of supply chain at Balluff.
The company is looking for more than 500 employees for production, as well as additional employees for industrial engineering, management and administration.
In this regard, Nonnenmann noted that this new site will not only offer jobs in an electronics manufacturing environment, but also rewarding jobs in a very attractive and fast-growing factory automation industry segment.
The executive added that modern production technologies and partially automated production lines will be used in Balluff's new Smart Factory.
The German company employs 3,600 people in 61 countries. In Mexico, Balluff has had a sales location in Querétaro for 21 years and will continue to do so.
