Bayer will invest US$43 million in its production plant in Veracruz

Bayer Mexico formalized an investment of US$43 million for its production plant in Orizaba–Ixtaczoquitlán, Veracruz.

According to the company, US$32.2 million of this amount will be allocated to the property, and US$10.7 million to the specific optimization of laboratories, infrastructure, and systems.

This expansion project is part of Bayer's five-year investment plan, which includes up to US$161.2 million to modernize, refurbish, and expand its centers in the country.

According to Rocío Nahle García, governor of the state, the agreement was finalized at a meeting with company executives.

“In Veracruz, we promote investments that generate employment, development, and well-being for the people of Veracruz,” the governor said on her social media accounts.

She also assured that this commitment reflects the confidence that companies have in the state, which offers stability, infrastructure, and skilled human capital.

The event was also attended by Daniel Londero, general manager of Bayer Mexico's Pharmaceutical Division, and Shashank Shukla, head of the Orizaba plant.

During the Presidential Morning Conference, Manuel Bravo, president of Bayer Mexico, explained that the investment to be made over a five-year period will be mainly allocated to strengthening areas such as health and nutrition.

He added that during this period, the capacity of the Orizaba plant will be expanded with the aim of producing Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) for export to Europe and the United States.

He also stated that this complex is one of Bayer's main facilities worldwide, positioning Mexico alongside Spain and Germany.

At the same time, he indicated that production lines for new medicines will be added to the plant in Lerma, State of Mexico, and the production capacity for biological fungicides will be doubled.
