BMTS Technology will invest US$25 million in Coahuila

RAMOS ARIZPE, COAH - BMTS Technology announced the expansion of its plant in Ramos Arizpe with an investment of US$25 million which will increase its production capacity by 40%.

With this expansion, the company will assemble more than 2 million turbochargers per year and generate 400 new direct jobs in the southeast region of Coahuila.

Groundbreaking for the expansion will take place in February 2025 at the Vynmsa Industrial Park. With this project, BMTS Technology strengthens its presence in Mexico and reinforces its global growth within the automotive sector.

During the announcement, Coahuila's Secretary of Economy, Luis E. Olivares Martinez, highlighted the importance of this investment for the state.

“We celebrate not only the growth of a leading company in its sector, but also the reaffirmation that our state offers ideal conditions for investment and industrial development. BMTS Technology's decision to expand its operations here is a clear testimony of this,” he said.

He also emphasized that Coahuila has world-class industrial infrastructure, a strategic location that facilitates access to the main markets of North America and highly trained human capital.

For his part, Alberto Trejo Aguirre, director of BMTS North America, explained that the expansion will strengthen the plant's presence in the automotive market.

“Currently, our products are present in General Motors platforms and in the Ford Nano engine, which powers the F-150. As of April 1, we will start our most ambitious project: the production of turbochargers for the Jeep Grand Cherokee hybrid from Stellantis,” he detailed.

BMTS Technology, founded as a joint venture between Robert Bosch GmbH and MAHLE GmbH, has established itself as a benchmark in the manufacture of turbochargers for the automotive industry.

The Ramos Arizpe plant has been key in the production of components for international platforms and with this expansion, reaffirms its strategic role in the region.
