BMW appoints Milan Nedeljkovic as new chairman of the board of directors until 2031

The BMW Supervisory Board has agreed that Milan Nedeljkovic will take over as Chairman of the BMW Board of Management on May 14, 2026, succeeding Oliver Zipse, who has held the position since August 2019.
“Milan Nedeljkovic impresses with his strategic vision, strong implementation skills, and entrepreneurial mindset. He represents a very resource-focused management style, whether financial or ecological,” emphasized Nicolas Peter, Chairman of the BMW Supervisory Board.
In 2023, Oliver Zipse's contract as Chairman of the Board of Management of BMW was extended beyond the usual retirement age until 2026. He will then leave the Board of Management as planned after the Annual General Meeting on May 13, 2026, concluding a total of 35 years with the BMW Group.
Milan Nedeljkovic has been a member of the BMW AG Board of Management since 2019 and is currently responsible for the Production division.
The 56-year-old executive began his career at BMW as an intern in 1993 and has gained extensive international experience. He has held senior leadership positions at the Oxford plant, as managing director of the Leipzig and Munich plants, and as senior vice president of Corporate Quality. His contract as chairman of the board of directors will run until 2031.
“Milan Nedeljkovic is highly regarded and trusted by BMW employees. Together with him, we look forward to continuing the long tradition of cooperation between the works council and corporate management, which is the basis for BMW's success,” said Martin Kimmich, Chairman of the Global Works Council and Vice Chairman of the Supervisory Board.
