Boeing VS-3 F3 Satellite expands connectivity

Boeing delivered the ViaSat-3 Flight 3 (VS-3 F3) satellite to the telecommunications company VIASAT. The satellite will provide the Asia-Pacific region with technology to enhance broadband deployment, as well as improved performance for commercial and defense customers.
“With this delivery, we are providing a high-power, flexible platform designed to support VIASAT’s next-generation connectivity mission, which is proving increasingly valuable every day,” said Ryan Reid, president of Boeing Satellite Systems International.
The satellite was built on Boeing’s high-power 702MP+ platform and integrated at its facility in El Segundo, California. The platform was developed to support larger, more power-hungry payloads, and for the VS-3 F3, the manufacturer expanded the platform to incorporate larger solar arrays, higher-capacity batteries, enhanced support electronics, and large deployable radiators to manage the thermal demands of a high-power mission.
With the VS-3 F1 already providing connectivity to commercial airlines, and the VS-3 F2 moving toward entry into service over the Americas, the VS-3 F3 will expand the constellation’s coverage into the Asia-Pacific region, enabling greater connectivity options for customers throughout the region.
