Nissan is making the advanced automated braking systems a standard feature on most of its U.S. vehicles for the 2018 model year, according to a report by AutoNews.
The decision will mean equipping more than 1 million Nissan brand vehicles with the technology, or about two-thirds of the company's expected annual volume. For that end, the Japanese automaker is counting on Robert Bosch and Continental AG to supply the required components.
Nissan will make the system standard on the 2018 Altima, Maxima, Murano, Pathfinder, Rogue, Rogue Sport and Sentra, except for models with manual transmissions or Nismo trim packages.
