MONTERREY, NL - BSH Home Appliance Group, the home appliance division of the Bosch Group, inaugurated its first refrigerator appliance plant in Mexico, located in the municipality of Salinas Victoria, Nuevo León, with an investment of US$260 million and the generation of up to 1,500 jobs.

The German company's plant began construction in the summer of 2022 and has an area of 430,000 square meters.

It will initially have a production capacity of 300,000 units and seeks to meet North American market standards in innovation and sustainable production processes.

BSH will manage the factory in a carbon dioxide (CO2) neutral manner.

"Our first home appliance factory in Mexico marks a strategic milestone. North America is an important growth market for our company and Mexico provides us with the ideal conditions to produce innovative Bosch and Thermador branded French door undermount cooling appliances that are specifically tailored to the needs of our consumers," said André Piel, Director of Operations at BSH Mexico.

For his part, Alexander Firsching, president of Bosch Mexico, noted that this inauguration reaffirms the Bosch Group's commitment in Mexico.

"With the start of operations of our 16th site in the country, we now cover all of the company's business sectors in terms of manufacturing: mobility, industrial technology, energy and building technology, and consumer goods," said Firsching.

"Over the years we have made our mark in Mexico (…) This factory is an important part of our long-term growth strategy in the region," Firsching emphasized.
