Dr. Michael Schmitt, Senior vice president and plant manager at Bosch-Toluca, announced that the German manufacturer is investing US$ 150 million this year in various projects carried out in Mexico.

In a recent conference before national media, the official commented that Bosch Mexico has 16,000 associates in 12 plants, including Toluca, which occupies a quarter of this workforce.

The Toluca plant has manufactured parts for the automotive industry for 52 years, first as Automagneto, but for the last 27 years under the Bosch brand.

The facility manufactures a wide range of components including comfort engines, braking systems, thermal systems, fuel pumps, low pressure sensors, among other products. The plant has the capacity to produce 125,000 electric motors per day - 1.5 per second -, which it uses in the different auto parts it assembles.

In 2017 alone, Bosch Toluca totaled sales of close to US$ 1 billion. More than 80% of the production is destined to the North American region, while the rest goes to the Asia, Europe and South America markets.
