Bühler sets up its first plant in Mexico

Swiss company Bühler has started building its first plant in Mexico, which will be in the town of Matamoros, Coahuila. The project will cost around US$51.6 million and create 500 direct jobs.
During the groundbreaking ceremony, Coahuila Governor Manolo Jiménez Salinas reported that since the beginning of his administration, investments of more than US$7.2 billion have been made in the state, creating approximately 45,000 jobs.
Bühler manufactures machinery and equipment for various manufacturing industries. The Matamoros plant will be part of the La Laguna industrial zone.
Jiménez Salinas emphasized that his administration has prioritized economic development and public safety as central pillars of government. He noted that collaboration between different levels of government, business leaders, and security agencies has been key to maintaining stable conditions for investment.
On this issue, the state governor mentioned that there is coordination with federal forces such as the Army, the National Guard, and the Navy, as well as with state prosecutors and authorities.
Luis Olivares Martínez, Coahuila's Secretary of Economy, described Bühler's arrival as the result of a joint strategy between the public and private sectors. Meanwhile, Olivia Enríquez, general manager of Bühler in Mexico, explained that the company chose to set up in Coahuila because of its favorable investment environment, competitive infrastructure, and work culture.
The mayor of Matamoros, Miguel Ángel Ramírez López, also participated in the event, along with other company officials and executives, such as Holger Feldhege, member of Bühler's Executive Board, and representatives of the local and state government.
