Cadillac confirms arrival of Escalade IQ in Mexico

Cadillac has confirmed that it will introduce the new Escalade IQ to the Mexican market, with a view to strengthening its position as a benchmark in the large luxury SUV segment, but now with a fully electric version.

“Cadillac's legacy is marked by iconic vehicles. Today, the brand has elevated its technological offering to bring us closer to a zero-emission future,” said Tere Vera, Marketing Manager for Premium Brands at General Motors de México, when making the announcement.

The executive said that this new product will stand out “for its handcrafted design standards, the most advanced automotive technology, and high-level interior comfort.”

“Escalade IQ symbolizes the spirit of luxury in its most sophisticated form, raising the standard just as the Escalade name redefined luxury a quarter of a century ago,” she said.

The interior features a 55-inch pillar-to-pillar curved glass screen to maximize some of the key functions of the instrument panel, making interactions more precise and specific.

The spacious cabin is enhanced by the glass roof, which extends across the entire surface of the first and second rows of seats to create an immersive experience and spectacular view for every passenger.

Customers have a wide range of ambient lighting options at their disposal, including up to 126 colors available for two different areas of the cabin.

The seats combine elegant design with heating, ventilation, massage, and multiple positions.

The center console in the second executive row allows for first-class productivity and entertainment, including folding tables, two wireless smartphone chargers, two 12-inch rear screens, and a separate touchscreen control panel used to control seat functions, door opening and closing, climate control, and more.

The unit is equipped with a standard AKG Studio 42-speaker audio system and surround amplifier, unique in its segment.

In terms of performance, the Escalade IQ features independent front and rear suspension with an electric motor that works together as an advanced eAWD system.

The 24-module battery provides more than 200 kWh of available energy, delivering up to 750 horsepower and 785 lb-ft of torque, enabling acceleration from 0 to 60 mph in less than 5 seconds.

Thanks to this system, the vehicle achieves an estimated range of 740 kilometers on a full charge, the longest range in the segment.

For more precise driving, the SUV incorporates advanced technologies such as Magnetic Ride Control 4.0 and Adaptive Air Ride Suspension, which isolate passengers from uneven surfaces while improving steering and feel.

It also integrates Regen on Demand and One-Pedal Driving features, which allow energy to be recovered during deceleration and optimize range by transforming kinetic energy into electricity stored in the battery.

To adapt to different conditions and driving styles, Escalade IQ features five drive modes that adjust the vehicle's steering, suspension, and response.

Tour offers a smooth ride with optimized calibration, while Snow/Ice prevents the wheels from skidding on slippery surfaces. Sport improves steering at high speeds and adds a dynamic engine sound.

Towing/Hauling adjusts the steering and suspension settings for a better towing experience, and My Mode allows you to customize the steering, suspension, engine sound, and throttle response to your preferences.

In terms of safety, the IQ incorporates advanced assistance technologies such as night vision, traffic sign recognition, and seven airbags, among others.

Cross Traffic Assist helps drivers avoid or reduce the severity of collisions at intersections with vehicles detected in cross traffic.

The HD rearview camera offers selectable digital views of the area around the vehicle to facilitate parking maneuvers and avoid obstacles.

With front, rear, and side parking assistance, the vehicle features semi-automatic steering, braking, and advanced speed control for safer and more precise maneuvers.

In addition, the collision warning system at any speed improves safety by detecting pedestrians or cyclists in front of the vehicle at speeds between 8 and 80 km/h to help prevent or minimize potential impacts.

The Cadillac Escalade IQ will be equipped with all the technology, safety and connectivity of OnStar. It includes 36 months of the Essentials package, the most comprehensive safety and emergency services package available, as well as 36 months of unlimited data, which occupants can use to connect their mobile devices to the internet via the Wi-Fi hotspot.

With Google Integrated functionality, the Cadillac Escalade IQ allows access to apps such as Google Maps, Waze, Spotify, audiobooks, and more, and plays video streaming on Prime Video and Max apps directly on the vehicle's infotainment system, without the need to link any mobile devices.

Through the MyCadillac app, customers can view key indicators for their EV, such as battery charge percentage and available range, as well as locate chargers or plan their route.

In Mexico, Cadillac Escalade IQ customers will receive a variety of benefits, including three years of maintenance services, a three-year/60,000-kilometer Defense to Defense warranty, and an eight-year warranty on GM-designed electric vehicle battery technology.

They will also receive a 19 kW portable charger and qualified residential installation service up to 15 meters through a partnership with VEMO and Evergo.

To facilitate the transition to electric, General Motors customers have access to 100- and 150-kW Level 3 chargers located at 36 stores in GM's EV Dealer Network in Mexico, 19 of which are Cadillac dealerships.
