CANACAR’s new generation is driving the freight transport sector

Thanks to the Northeast’s position as one of the main hubs for trade between Mexico and the United States, a new generation of transport operators is emerging, taking on key roles within the National Chamber of Freight Transport (CANACAR).
Eric Peñalver was elected regional vice president for the Northeast, while Melissa Tamez was chosen as delegate in Monterrey, making her the first woman to lead this office.
Secretary General of the State Government Miguel Angel Flores swore in the Monterrey delegation and emphasized that institutional coordination, attracting investment, and highway safety are priority issues in the relationship between authorities and carriers.
“It is important for us that you know you are a strategic ally; you are the engine driving Mexico’s economy, and it is very important that we remain coordinated and in communication,” he noted.
He also highlighted that promoting new routes and maintaining safety conditions on highway sections are key factors for the operation of the trucking industry and the state’s competitiveness.
The challenge now is not to grow, but rather how the sector organizes itself to sustain this growth with greater efficiency and better operating conditions.
