CanCham MTY: New leadership & prepares for future investments

The economic relationship between Nuevo Leon and Canada has established itself as one of the most strategic for the state’s development, driven by growing investment and close international cooperation.


During the 2026 Annual General Meeting of the Canadian Chamber of Commerce in Monterrey (CanCham MTY), state officials and business representatives highlighted the importance of this bilateral partnership in boosting regional competitiveness.


During the event, Jaime Herrera was recognized for his service as the outgoing president of the organization, and Jorge Arrambide was welcomed as the new president of CanCham Monterrey; both will take on the challenge of continuing to promote growth and collaboration between the two regions.


Nuevo Leon’s Secretary of Economy, Betsabe Rocha, described Canada as a key strategic partner for Nuevo Leon; in 2024 alone, Canadian investment in the state exceeded US$150 million, reflecting a relationship based on trust, innovation, and economic development.


Rocha also reiterated her commitment to attracting investment, developing talent, and strengthening international partnerships that contribute to the state’s sustainable growth.
