CFECapital considers new capital offering in Mexico

CFECapital, the unit that manages CFE Fibra E (FCFE18)—the only financial vehicle with access to the Federal Electricity Commission’s (CFE) National Transmission Grid (RNT)—is evaluating the possibility of conducting a new capital offering in Mexico and on international markets, according to a press release.
“If it goes ahead, it would be the first transaction of this kind since CFE Fibra E’s initial public offering in February 2018,” the CFE noted.
In addition, the CFE noted that the plan includes an investment of US$8.2 billion to modernize and expand the RNT by 2030, through a portfolio of 60 projects concentrated in the country’s highest-demand corridors.
“Market's interest in CFE Fibra E was demonstrated in September 2025, when its first international bond offering of US$725 million received demand approximately 10 times the amount offered, with participation from 240 investors across 32 countries,” the financial institution stated.
It further added that the proposed transaction would proceed—only—if all necessary regulatory and corporate authorizations are obtained, including approval from the National Banking and Securities Commission.
